I have alot of images I get free weekly and some I bought from www.dover.com
I converted them all to PNGS with transparent back ground. then put them in the sypbols directory and named them "dover" there are about 1500 great items to use in mandalas.

Just thought you'd like to know

Hi,

I have no idea how to convert my Symbols in PNG, so I tried it with Photoshop Datei Format (PSD). The symbol has an transparent backround and then I just saved in my own Symbol-Directory named "own". And it workes fine.

Now Iam able to build mandalas for my children, so they can colour the prints.

Thanks for your _base_ Idea to import own symbols.

Note: If you use PSD-Format then it is important that the file is in RGB not greyscale or black-white.

So far.

Hi,

.PNG is a graphic image format like .gif or .jpg. Gif and png are loseless formats.
You can find more info here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portable_Network_Graphics
There's a section that compares png with jpg.

For creating a png you should use Adobe Photoshop or an other external program.

Regards
Zoltan
